But Crystal didn't follow-up her Newcomer of the Year win by winning Model of the Year in 2003. Julia Miles won, Linsey Dawn McKenzie won in 2004, Minka won in 2005 and Merilyn Sakova won in 2006. Finally, Crystal got her well-deserved recognition by the readers in 2007.
If you have that sold-out May 2003 awards issue with the New York brunette's star-spangled bikini cover shot, it's a collector's item.
"I have one copy for myself," Crystal said in an interview in 2008. "It's in a frame. Anthony, my roadie, got me this beautiful frame, and he took six of my best covers and framed them with the T-shirt that says 'Tits On Wheels,' the one that I'm wearing in the roller girl pictorial [June '08]. They're all my best covers from SCORE."
Crystal has 28 SCORE magazine and 11 DVD appearances to her credit. She wrote a column called "The Gunns Show." This on-the-road-style column, similar to Alyssa Alps' previous SCORE column, ran from October '06 to October '08. It's currently archived at SCORELAND in the "Fiction, Articles and Humor" section. Miss Gunns was also the spokesmodel for SCORELAND's 15th Anniversary.
Being a traveling feature, Crystal went from city to city dancing at clubs and beating the drum for SCORE face-to-face with her audiences. Her kind of SCORE Girl--like Lisa Lipps, Busty Dusty and many more--was fearless. Today, the new breed of web-cam girls modeling at home over the Internet seem afraid to even leave their bedrooms.
The most in-your-face proof of Crystal's impact upon mortal men came in 2005 and 2006 when she and several other SCORE Girls were spokesmodels at our booth at the annual Adult Entertainment Expo. The mobs of fans encircling the booth were massive. Here were their favorite babes in the flesh. There were times when I wondered if we needed police barricades or at least a ninja bodyguard squad.
